96-00 Civic Upper Grill Block

Well I finally had time after work to work on the Civic, so I made a quick and easy upper grill block as seen here (Aftermarket Grill, costs about $20)

I found some chloroplast scraps we had laying around the shop, which is about 1/4 inch thick and is somewhat bendable to an extent

Next I used an exacto knife to cut the rough dimension of th insert out

Then I took a pencil and marked the inside mouth of the grill onto the chloroplast, and cut around the penil marks about 1/4 inch all the way around

Next I screwed the chloroplast from the back side into the grill, there are already screw mounting holes molded in the aftermarket grill that I got

Finshed result.

Fitted to the car. Take note that I had to take out the screws along the top of the grill that held on the chloroplast because the grill would not fit using the screws that I chose, so it is pressure fit in between the grill and the rad support, probably more solid than the screws.

Now to get some ecomiling in!!
