Free Electric Car | Just Drive Electric - FAQs

Anyone know more about this? I know as much as the website says, that's it so far...

last I looked into it there was a credit for a NEW vehicle that was converted to electric, where you could subtract some percentage of the conversion costs. Obviously the manufacturers have to get their money before any laws get passed...

It's a scam. The website has the markings of complete BS template, and nothing is free. And doing a quick WhoIS search shows that "owner" of the site is in Arizona and the site claims they are in Oklahoma.

So don't waste your time, it's a scam. And what they are "selling" are nothing more than golf carts with a paint job.

Hello -

Correct me if I am wrong, but even if the tax credit was legitimate, it's not :

X cost - X tax credit = free

It's :

Y total income - X tax credit =[lots of tax code calculations here]= Z tax reduction
=> X cost - Z tax reduction = NOT free

sounds like they found some loopholes for their state, maybe even just their city, they are not selling them as NEV (Neighborhood Electric Vehicle) as the tax credit does not cover those but as Low Speed Vehicles... something that the tax credit I didn't think covers either but am not clear on.

New Energy Tax Credit for Electric Vehicles Purchased in or after 2010
