Can't find it online as they shield their articles from non-members, but I do recall a local consumer group claiming the results are not equal across the car market.
In their tests, some brands responded better to the improved fuels than others.

The test cited above was carried out on a dyno, not on the road.

IN finland you can get Neste green diesel which cetan value is 54-56. (lupo will be tuned for that stuff... On regular diesel it is 50-51 range in Finland. That green diesel has more biodiesel (NExBTL) which cetan value is higher.

on 100% NExBTL diesels cetan value is between 70-90 but it has less energy density.

You will get the benefits og higher cetan if your car has learning ECU otherwise there will not come much gains.

...similar results occur with octane in gasoline engines--*if* the injectors are too small, the ECU might not be able to "adjust" the fuel injection pulse width enough to utilize the higher octane of E85 fuels, etc.
