funds & experiments for the community

Hi,

I apologize if it sounds off for this forum.
Many people here are skilled hardware modders. Others, like me, just want to see the results before doing anything.
But sometimes, the most "exotic" tests might cost (material, repair, ...). So many testers might not try anything too expensive or not sounding well.

My idea is, would it be possible to create an ecomodder fund where every one can contribute and some skilled person will use the money to try out some of these most wanted/difficult/costly mods?

I realize it can be difficult to do it (many people = many opinions) but some modders here have already gained a good reputation and can be trusted.

Possibly a good idea, but every vehicle is going to have a different result from a mod, so even if it works on one car doesn't mean it will work the same for you.

Besides, not experimenting takes away a lot of the fun!

...it's the "...oil under the fingernails..." that make the experimentation all the more worthwhile!

If you want to buy me a cheap webcam or a datalogger, please do. I'll run numerous experiments and post the data and my analysis here.

The idea has merit, but I doubt there's many people who would be willing to sponsor other people's projects. Also, I could easily picture a sponsor feeling like he didn't get his money's worth, for any of a number of reasons.
