Gathering of Streamliners 2009

July 24-26, AMA's Vintage Days, Mansfield, Ohio. The AMA has offered a prime area in front of their Motorhead Cafe to display streamlined street cycles.
Craig Vetter, designer and inventor of the Windjammer fairing,Triumph Hurricane Motorcycle and fuel economy motorcycles

Last year, my streamlined Helix attracted a lot of attention and will be there again this year. Whether your streamliner is finished or not, bring it. An unfinished project can be very interesting.
We want streamlining for road use, not racing... 2 or 3 wheels.

No cars here. This is a motorcycle event. Contact me to make sure you will have a reserved space. This can be a great place to meet.

I might have to do some long overdue streamlining and work on my CAD (Cardboard Aided Design) skills

Craig,

I really enjoyed meeting you, and hearing your presentation at Mid Ohio Vintage Days this year (and also there in 08). Bought your video (How they got 470 mpg...) last year and love it (I recommend it for ALL interested in fuel economy).

Thanks for spreading the word about our need to ride, drive and live on less energy. You did a great job with that, and on your Helix. You have a gift at being able to make people "THINK outside of the fairing" so to speak.

Best Regards & Good Luck with your continued project,
LowAndSlow (a name I got from an old friend that flys a single engine plane)

Thank you. My hope is that we have put the TTXGP electric folks in touch with real streamlining. I feel like a matchmaker. This is important stuff. Real streamlining will allow machines to go at least 20% farther at highway speeds. This will really make a difference in electric.

Thanks for your work with motorcycles and fairings! It is awesome to see you on here. I was raised around motorcycles: as a kid Dad had Harley Duo- and Electra-Glides, and then in the mid '70s he bought one of the first Z-1 Kawasakis in the area. I "cut my teeth" on a Suzuki T-500, but I learned all about power and how to respect it (thankfully!) on that Z-1... and by the time my younger brother wrecked it, it had "road bars" and a Windjammer II on it.

I linked your website to My Favorites, and will keep watch in the Streamliner area from time to time. I'll have to go with a three-wheeler design now, because of my disability, but the idea of an electric streamlined three-wheeler is one that would help motivate me in the quest to get off of foreign oil. Thanks again!

Dan
