What caught my attention is #3 Gottlieb Daimler. The claim is that he didn't make whole cars, but kits to turn horse-drawn buggies and wagons into motor vehicles. An early take on the kit car industry. Not supported by Episode #4.

The Daimler brand reverted to England, where in an associate created the [World's first] Simms Battle Car.

This is a great steampunk deign with solid wood/rubber/steel wheel and a 16MPH top speed. The skirted body looks aerodynamic but the open top spoils it.

Needs active suspension so it can lay frame.

Wouldn't be difficult to stance it, but would remove a potload of useful load space.

My assumption is load is inconsequential in that event

I was thinking about not having grenades rolled underneath. It carried IIRC 10,000 rounds of ammunition.

If you're close enough to roll grenades underneath, someone has other important problems than carrying ammo
