Gen1 Honda Insight 2nd Clutch

Just a shout out here for anyone interested in following along with .. or participating in .. either on-line .. or at the weekend workshops MikeD will be hosting to work on this project.

With all the progress that has been made over the years previously with Peter and others on advanced Lithium battery pack upgrades for the Gen1 Insight .. and the current progress Mudder has been making with his efforts to roll all that previous progress and all his new progress all together into one easier to to implement Lithium Conversion kit .. his Linsight Project.

To get the most out of the increased capacity , previously one tried to use the energy to keep the ICE running as efficiently as possible .. sense in different conditions the ICE varied from under 26% to over 38% efficiency .. keeping the ICE efficiency up and replacing some of the needed ICE output wh ... with a PHEV Lithium pack wh .. this all had to potential to increase one's Gasoline MPG by up to 46% for as long as the PHEV energy lasted.

But there would be even more potential with a 2nd clutch .. to be able to remove the ICE drag during EV-Mode Operation .. thus allowing for even greater gains from a Lithium Conversion .. and even without a Lithium conversion , it also would improve the amount of braking energy one can recover with regenerative braking by removing the ICE air pumping and ICE friction while one is doing regenerative braking.

Link for more on Linsight Kit .. lower barrier to entry (easier) combination of all learned from previous Lithium Gen1 Insight Conversions.
