Not popular here also, mostly for the high install price and then nobody will deal with it for maintenance, you're on your own if it has a higher pitch than 4:1. I steal my kids rock climbing equipment and tie to the trees.

Proper maintenance would really be an issue. People here resort to makeshifts even for some roofing methods which are seen as more conventional too.

.

There are many homes here that are well over a 100 years old that still have their original tin metal roofs. They have been cool sealed.

“Cool seal” is a silver colored asphalt based coating that is either brushed or rolled on. It covers rust, holes cracks and reduces thermal transfer.

With a little Maintance every 30-40 years. They’ll be there for another 100 years.

There's a company here that sprays on a polyurethane coating for any roof that's guaranteed to last 50 years. It is very expensive though.

One thing to keep in mind is that the cost of housing is skyrocketting. As much as I'd like to build a bullet-proof house, the little amount of remodeling I've done to the trailer I live in hasn't been with the materials I prefer to use since I can't afford them. And if I were to build a house I'm sure the same thing would happen.

Two ways to do that, buy outright for $$$$$$$$, or mod it your self which is slow and less expensive. The problem with buying it turn key is some state of the current art techniques end up being lousy and hugely difficult to R&R.

I'm finding most homes have inadequate attic ventilation which allows the roof to get too hot.

It's lack of soffit ventilation, not roof ventilation, that is restricting airflow.

Wouldn't Polyurethane be flammable? I'd look more closely to cork spray paint.

80% cork granules and 20% water-based paint.

The big thing CNG has going for it, is that you can replace it with biogas from waste and synthetic gas made from other sources (like Audi's syn-gas plant using windmills to make NG from CO2 and water)

BTW, I am STILL of the opinion that Global Warming is an elitist scam.
Gonna happen anyway

Going by past ice ages and interglacials (warm periods between ice ages), we're nearing the temperature peak of the current interglacial period.
But we're not quite there yet.
