So about tire psi.....

I have been noticing how much it is said around here that tire psi is very important......I just checked today and noticed that I'm at 25 psi or lower for my tires when they are supposed to be at 35. How much do you think this hurt my last tank?

Oh lord. Considering the application.... id say you may see 1-2 mpg, 2 being the most. In all honesty, you really need to do some reading at Barry's Tire Tech

Set the tires at 40 lbs and see how it does, the proof is in the mpg gain.

O wow, that was a VERY good read and makes the whole tire situation much more clear to me now. According to the data given and my math I am indeed missing about 2-3 mpg with being that low. I'm going to go set these to 40 and see if there is a negative impact to stopping and traction and if there is not I'll keep them set there.

Since you are going from 25 to 40, you may notice a stiffer ride. Which might discourage you. I suggest you go to factory setting ( 30?) for a week, THEN go to 40.

Then try 45 in a couple of weeks! Someone did a test on increasing psi and I 'think' there was a diminishing return.

According to the article someone linked me to read yeah, I think I will max out at about 42ish and I kinda don't want to over inflate as these things were expensive and I would like them to last. Nice idea with the under body pan btw, I might do something to my truck like that.....mount it to where the skid plates are or something...yours is flat out impressive

Since its for a truck Im sure you will notice a much bigger effect on ride vs any measurable mpg effect. I tried 15-52 psi on my tacoma with 31 inch tires. No change in mpg.
