Smile Finally got to 60MPG!

'04 HCH 5-speed, combined city/highway driving in Raleigh NC.

Raleigh has lots of hills, which, surprisingly, works to my advantage. Lock the accelerator up hill, then watch the fuel economy gauge shoot to 120MPG downhill!

I can usually keep it up around 50 - 55MPG, though the hot summer months have taken a toll.

Congrats on the 60 mpg! You should post your fuel log. Are you using the AC? Any mods?

Stock Honda Civic Hybrid - 1st generation. Fuel economy reading based off of the dashboard computer, not off of logging. I'm too lazy for that!

Not to be a stickler I would say that unless you divide your miles by the gallons you put in you never know.

I have an ultra gauge and it read about 10-12% HIGHEr mpg than what I was using.

Still if you are really getting over 50 that is great.

I gotta completely agree with this post, from the first line to the last. I too have an UltraGauge that overcounts. My trip logs, therefore, reflect higher numbers than the tank averages, where I always sue the pump/odo calculation (and it is always 2-3 MPG lower than my gauge.

Congratulations on beating your personal best--that seems certain. But the pump and an empty tank is still our most reliable measure.

I will rebuild Black and Green over decades as parts die, until it becomes a different car of roughly the same shape and color. My minimum fuel economy goal is 55 mpg while averaging posted speed limits. I generally top 60 mpg. See also my Honda manual transmission specs thread.
