If buying new, I would go directly for a EV scooter for not much more money but no hassle.

Is a trike mandatory ?
It is a lot of weight for a 50cc or EV equivalent ...

There are 50CC equivalent EV and as such they should not need registration (but I am useless at this since I only know France registration)

I find it odd to buy new something you intend on modifying under such short notice but it is only my opinion

I like it!

But personally I would go with 2 wheels. Take a beater scooter (I love old Yamaha BWS's - had one a few years ago) and install a hub motor. Once the engine, fuel tank, etc. are gone, I think you will be surprise how much LiFePO4 will fit in there.

A reverse trike is better than a car, not than a bike (or I misunderstood something)

How about selling Insight PHEV conversion ?
You have the know how , obviously the inclination and an example to show !
