I had a problem once and long story short unless you know a lawyer, its a few hundred bucks an hour just to see if you got a case, plus they will take at least 60%. I am in a class action suite with a former employer. The lawyer gets 3.5 million, I get 500 bucks.

If you need to threaten talk about sending the footage to your local news channel that fights for views, facebook or youtube. When I worked customer service everything threatened to call a lawyer, we didnt care. When customers said they were going to go on facebook, youtube, etc we had new procedures to follow.

Was he driving for a commercial company? Do they have a youtube, facebook, etc? How about posting it there?

IF you hire a lawyer, assuming the drivers insurance tries anything underhanded and especially after them seeing the video, use the video to negotiate for the attorneys fees. I'm not sure I would mess with a lawyer with that video which is absolutely the best evidence I have EVER seen.

regards
Mech

Ive heard in FL that if you get in an accident and end having to calling a lawyer, the insurance company has to pay the fees for the lawyer.

Dont forget diminished value, lost work and such too.

You already gave your statement? Thats something you should hold off on and if you got any aches and pains mention them during your statement as it will be held against you. That was my mistake in the accident I was in, but I just wanted to get the ball rolling and my car fixed. Took them 2 weeks to get back to me, guessing they wanted me to file against my insurance?

got the estimate today. 1300.00 from what they can see. not including hidden stuff. here's a hidden: went to pop hood for oil change; latch wouldn't release. had to disassemble to get it open. what's next!

Good luck!

When I drove a school bus, I somehow hit a fuel tank cover in my Honda Prelude. My mechanic said "My wife has done worse!" and told me that I needed to replace the cross-members. Then he said that I needed new motor mounts and fuel injectors.

There were several more things, none of which were discovered until the previous ones were fixed.

I sure hope that you have a better mechanic!

Yes, I was very confused myself--more than normal!
