I don't know on the motorcycles but I used to have a Polaris Scrambler 500cc ATV that had the CVT, back in that day you would change the weights for a faster launch, what I don't know is if the same weights would contribute to a lower rpm acceleration and then you could test different rpms like I had with the Versa Note rental car...

That RPM sounds very high
Mine only went up to six at sixty five check the final drive ratio
Mine is about 8:1
