Got me an electric car today

Actually 20 of them with my gas savings .

Aurora thunderjets, the overwhelming favorites of old farts like me when we were teenagers in the 1960s. 50 years old and they still run great. Got 45 feet of track and most all of the accessories at a yard sale today.

Nice! That's where the AFX stuff came from isn't it? I have an AFX Firebird Challenge in the box around here somewhere, someone found it at a garage sale for $3, pretty sure most of it's missing though. I think the first set I ever had was in the late '70s, I seem to remember a white Nomad and a green Deuce Coupe as the cars. I think my dad bought it more for him than for me haha. And someone came out with a road race track that didn't have slots and you could make the cars change lanes with a switch at the back of your controller, but then of course the other guy was in control of your car, which is why I don't think that one really caught on!

Set up a 14@9 inch section track that would fit on a 31X48 piece of 1/4 inch plywood. Running close to 3 second laps with several different cars. It will fit in the back seat of the Sentra for visits to the grandkids.

Way Cool!!!

I can still remember the specific smell that the slot car tracks had. Kinda like the Coleman Lantern when the family would go camping. Man I miss those days...

Great memories

My usual Friday night is spent racing 1/24th scale Group 10 slot cars, at Modeleville Hobby which is probably the only place on the planet to have 5 slot car tracks up and running! And they have at least 2 additional racks that they will install if they had the space.

Modelville Hobby

And right next to it is LenJet HO Raceway that has 8 (at least count) HO tracks, including 2 of the only 8 lane HO tracks in existence:

That is cool Neil, so you drive your electric car to go racing in electric cars.

We last raced RC cars (electric), lots of fun until you ran into someone who couldn't stand letting you pass them. Still enjoy "tuning" them, old memories coming back.
