The wife's (age 28) catastrophic health insurance premium with $5000 deductible went from $100/mo last year to $200/mo this year, and we are prohibited by law (although unconstitutional) from going without.

We have all of the worst features of free-market health care and socialized medicine. Maybe it has to get horrible before it can get better. Lengthy but eye-opening article about how health care in the US got so expensive here.

The Feds should levy a sales tax, eliminate the income tax, and provide zero deductions or refunds. If staple grocery items were not taxed, and perhaps the first $400 per month toward rent or mortgage, this would be a progressive tax structure.

Put the IRS, lobbyists, and CPA's out of work.

P.S. -- in the military, a "can" is slang for outhouse, latrine, crapper, etc.
