2012 Kia Rio 1.1L diesel

I just got an advertisement for a local auto dealer and in the ad it has the 2012 Kia Rio. It says it will have 4 new engines- 1.25L and 1.4L, 4 cylinder gas engine and a 1.1L turbo charged 3 cylinder & 1.4L turbo charged 4 cylinder diesel engines with 6 speed manual transmissions.

Has anyone else heard of this? A quick look on line doesn't show anything.

I left the ad at home (at work now) that's pretty much all I can remember. I think the diesels only had 80-85 hp.

Man, I had to check you didn't post that on April 1. That's a dream lineup of engine and transmission choices! I'd love to see any of them, let alone all of them.

Hmmm. This would be awesome. I cant find anything that says it will have the diesel in US markets but if you got an advertisement, thats a really good sign.

6-speed 1.1l turbo diesel.... oh the MPGS!!!

This is the ad, hopefully it's big enough to read. This took forever, my computer died and I'm using my old one with ME (as in before Windows XP)

Wow, very interested to see which of those will be available stateside and what kind of numbers people can pull with them.

I just talked to a hyundai guy and the new accent should be here within the next 60 days as well. He didn't know the specs on it, but given hyundai's recent push for fuel economy I suspect that will be one to watch as well.

1.1L turbo diesel? In the United States of America? It's too good to be true, I think it's a misprint.

2.2L turbo petrol rally edition is probably what they meant.

That's some good news though, I might be looking for a new car in the next couple of years.
