By no means do I know very much about anything, in fact the more I study the more I realize how much I don't know. If you learn anything from me then my time on earth was well spent.
What I have been working on for the last 5 years is wake management. Any rear wing with a Gurney will have the Von Karman. Full body cars tend to have what is called a horse shoe vortex coming from each "C" pillar. On the NASCAR side "before the COT" I would purposly generate counter rotating vortexs to try and take some energy away from the horse shoe vortex (worked well enough to get a Pole at Daytona and Talladega).
On the Open Wheel cars I was trying to do the same thing and take energy away from the VK.
There are plenty of other thing I like to do such as "trying" to manage seperation bubbles along the body, but lately my big gains are in aft flow management.
