Greetings from Scotland with their first car!

Hey folks! Got my first car - my little (big?) blue Ford C-Max 2014 Zetec with a 1.6L Duratorq-TDCi, (diesel) engine.

It's name is Mr Ford and he had a little over 56 kilo-miles on the clock at purchase.

Been in at the shop to get a new EGR valve (...after 3 weeks of ownership... and now it's getting a brake service as well as they're squeeky-squeeky!)

Hoping to have some fun here - I'm mostly into the driving techniques as I don't want to mod the car without good cause (especially when it's still under warranty! Insurance premium goes up too if I mod anything "critical") - and I think I've caught the hypermiling bug!

I'm a mad scientist/engineer as well, so I love statistics and monitoring - hoping to make the most of that side of the forums as well!

So, greetings and salutations, folks! Hope to hear more from you all soon!

A chap who sells used cars in Southampton told me it's one of the best engines in its class.

Hi and welcome! The 1.6 tdci is a Peugeot/ford engine, you can find it on some Suzuki, mini and Volvo's as well.
This engine is quite fuel efficient "from factory"

Suzuki had already resorted to Peugeot, Renault, Mazda and Fiat Diesel engines before it concentrated more efforts toward mild-hybrids and full-hybrids, but I have never seen one with this engine, even though the DW10 was available in my country for the Grand Vitara when it was assembled in Argentina from 2001 to 2003.
