Can you elaborate on why?
I am sceptical of benefits in other aero areas, in the sense that in a perfect world they can all add a benefit, but often the modification may not take into account enough how air is currently moving around the car and hence just make things work,
but with the grille block, it is one of the simpler mods that usually does provide a benefit.

I'd still be quite afraid of an overheating.

That's why you monitor the coolant temp and adjust your blocks if needed.

I understand your view point, I only use a partial grill block during the colder months.

If I ever get around to making one that's adjustable on the move, I would probably keep it on all year however.

If I would ever try a grille block, I'd go with a retractible one. When I pointed that I was still quite skeptical about it, I didn't say I'd disconsider it forever...
