Little project I did for UK electronics mag Practical Electronics. Ideal bedside torch - at night, you can still see the LED faintly glowing days after last winding it.
Much better durability than commercial rechargeable battery torches. I have capacitor-based hand-cranked torches still working well after 15 years!
Can you adapt it to falling weights like a grandfather clock?
