One more lap around the sun!

Birthday cake: By Rev Dan Catt

(Yes, I'm getting even lazier with the birthday cake. No cake was made this year, unlike the real cake made on our 2nd birthday. USUAL WARNING: DO NOT attempt to skip cake with an actual 6 year old.)

Birthday Party Prizes

We're celebrating by giving away a few prizes...
  • ScanGauge II: thanks to Linear Logic for offering to sponsor our birthday party by giving away a ScanGauge II. It will be awarded at random to one member* who posts in any thread in the forum between 12:01 AM EST (Dec. 3) and 11:59 PM EST 1 week from today (Dec. 16).
  • EcoModder decals: one additional randomly chosen member who posts in the forum in the same time period will receive a free pair of decals.
* ... only members who joined before today can win.

So, Happy Birthday to us! And as always, thanks to everyone -- moderators and members alike -- who make EcoModder worth celebrating.

Contest results to be posted [here] later.

Congratulations on not becoming useless, or dead, or boring, or erupting in civil war, or selling out, or any of those other things forums tend to do. Here's to many more!

chumly 12-10-2013 11:21 AM

Cool, Dec. 3 is my birthday too but instead of 6 years I turned 60 that day. It seems that I just turned 16 a couple weeks ago. Where does the time go? :confused:Chumly

elhigh 12-10-2013 12:29 PM

You Know You're an Ecomodder If...

...you manage, by careful management of calendars and taking extra naps, to skip a birthday.

Next year, EM turns 8!

jakobnev 12-10-2013 12:43 PM

If you look carefully you'll see that the cake actually does have six candles on it!

allenh318 12-10-2013 01:53 PM

So happy to find this site, they have helped me to gain MPG's where I thought I could not.

Nah, your "counting" is fine, you just gotta learn to use BOTH hands beyond the number five (wink, wink)!

AntiochOG 12-10-2013 04:44 PM

Happy Birthday!

Mustang Dave 12-10-2013 07:09 PM

Happy Birthday, EcoModder! And thanks for the help in making people tell me that I'm full of <excrement> when I tell them what kind of fuel economy I get with my vehicles. :)

Happy birthday, Ecomodder!

Thank you for getting someone to bet me $1,000 that I can't get 44 mpg on the highway with no rules (I don't think he realizes he will be 600 miles away from civilization with me when I prove it...)!

Hey! No fair fixing my intentional speling erors!

t vago 12-10-2013 11:13 PM

Happy Birthday!

MetroMPG 12-16-2013 12:22 PM

The bad news: I'm confused by the number of candles on the cake, and how old we actually are.

The good news: some lucky forum members are about to win some loot!

The even better news: due to US gas prices being at multi-year lows, it's quieter than normal around here lately. So to those of you who stick around for reasons beyond "pocketbook panic", your odds are even better this year.

I'll do some figgerin tomorrow AM and will post the results here.

spacemanspif 12-16-2013 01:03 PM

I didn't know this site was so new. I signed up this year but I remember lurking here and there for a long while. Glad to be a part of the community :)

justme1969 12-16-2013 03:29 PM

I wish we all lived a bit closer.

It would be good to put your faces into my brain to match with text.
If they do get a south central event Im going just for that alone.
Also Merry Christmas all!

And the winners are...

One lucky newcomer, and two old-timers!

1574 posts were made in the contest period, with the post ID range of 401675 to 403249. (If you want to know what your personal odds were: divide that by the number of posts you made. Your odds were one in whatever number you come up with.)

We used the True Random Number Generator at RANDOM.ORG - True Random Number Service to choose the winning four post ID's from that range. It spat out the following:
Winners: please send me a PM with your snail mail details to claim your prizes.

Congratulations & thanks to everyone for taking part, especially Linear Logic for providing the big prizes.

NachtRitter 12-17-2013 11:25 AM

Well, since I didn't get picked, I'm gonna take my ball & go home... :(

justme1969 12-17-2013 12:40 PM

congrats winners

feel like selling a scangage cheap???

You related to Hitler (ball, singular) (joke, joke)?

MetroMPG 12-17-2013 03:42 PM

(Took me a few seconds to get that joke...)

I've heard from the two ScanGauge winners and I've passed on your contact info to Linear Logic. They'll send 'em directly to you.

So......what your trying to say is .............you didn't pick me  :( :o

MetroMPG 12-17-2013 04:58 PM

In a long, roundabout way, I guess I\'m trying to say...

The random number generator didn\'t pick you. :D
