What's more, surely they will figure out which partiocular foodstocks are most efficiently converted by the fungus. Maybe you could have a hopper in your back yard, put poop, lawn clippings, trash, paper products, those pesky styrofoam peanuts, etc, into it, and make fuel.
...then the fungus spreads wild through america's crops and we're all starving to death because we had as little foresight as the petro industry. (just a little dose of cynical skeptisism)
Other reports say the fuel vapour contains a lot of methane; that site has it all the way up to octane. I think it will work OK in spark-ignition engines. :-)
