NorCal w/ 97 Passat & 06 G Caravan

Hey all,
My main concern is getting the best gas mileage possible out of my two vehicles.

Passat: VR6 wagon gets 35MPG right now with good driving habits, looking at a chip mod

Caravan: 3.8 V6 gets 20.5MPG same thing, looking @ chip mod & lowering..

Any cheap & easy ideas to start?

I am a cyclist already and so are my kids..

Bump up the psi to 40+ for starters.
Welcome!
