EVTV have posted a 5-series conversion:
https://www.google.com/search?q=Dami...bmw+conversion
They have also shown a 2:1 planetary-gear reduction box that can replace the transmission and clutch; but I don't have a direct link, so [citation needed]. Depending on the rear axle gearing, you get a gear reduction similar to Tesla or Toyota HSD (7-9:1). Your motor [might/will] shred the BMW transmission.

Hello,
I saw that conversion and i saw that gear. .. it is to expencive and tesla ratio is not good because tesla drivetrain has 18000 rpm. Today i found gear from 2.8 motor with 70000 miles. It has bigger and stronger clutch as gear from 2.0 motor.

I have never seen a regular 5-series of that generation with a manual transmission, only the M5. But anyway, now that most of the OEM electric cars are getting rid of a transmission at all, relying on direct-drive and the reversibility of the electric motors, it does surprise me that most DIYers still prefer to retain a transmission.

Manual transmissions are extremely popular in Europe, even for luxury cars. Automatics were like hens teeth, though they are becoming more popular now, especially with the introduction of CVT for small engined vehicles, and of course now, DSG.

M5 e39 has strictly manual transmision. I cant drive without gearbox , because i will destroy the motor very soon like my friend. Just in 3 months he damaged warp 9 on direct drive. This is warp 11 much stronger. Maybe he last 6 months or one year.
