Hello everyone
I'm not the usual member, as I drive a dodge diesel pickup. Impressive mpg for my truck iare the rare tanks that go over 20 mpg. I'm experimenting with lpg fumigation now hoping to get in the 20s on a regular basis. I put about 4k miles on the truck so far, but all of it pulling a 25 foot travel trailer around the country at 75 mph, so my best tank was 14 mpg and my worst tank was 9.7 mpg (strong cross wind). I'm looking forward to doing a normal tank as a work truck to see if I can get the numbers into the mid 20s. Mileage has become an obsession as the potential for these trucks are far beyond the stock form. Some future mods will include a compound turbo setup with a homemade header to allow minimum air flow restriction, and an intake air cooler that is more efficient than the stock charge air cooler. The lpg fumigation system is my first iteration (2 stage) and will be 5 or 6 stages (keys off boost pressure). Goals for the truck 30 plus mpg highway unloaded. Pretty ambitious for a 7500 lb truck that has the aerodynamics of a big brick. I don't own a car, but if I did, I would get a vw jetta tdi. I think they can hit 45 mpg easy enough. With some mods, who knows.
I'll start a detailed thread later with the mods I have done to the truck so far. My plans always exceed my budget.
