A Lurker Arrives...
Chuck here, I've been reading here for some time now, but with a new (to me) vehicle purchase, 03 Tundra 4x4 extra cab, I have decided to get involved. I designed a car to run in the Auto X-Prize event, but a funding problem was not overcome. Seeing what won makes me a little ill, and my car is still in the works, but on with the now. I just completed a 1258 mile trip with the Toy, and got an average of 19.42 mpg. This was through the mountains of E. AZ and Central NM, some freeway @ 70 MPH on cruise. When I fill the last time tomorrow it will go down,as we had winds of up to 50 MPH we were going into on the way back. Tires were at 32 psi, which I'll see if they can go higher for a start. My goal is 25 plus! Past vehicles, 97 Jeep Cherokee...18 mpg, 81 VW Rabbit Diesel PU...50 mpg, it is being rebuilt to sell.
