I used to drive a '93 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera. It did great on the highway, but around town it was a little ponderous. Trying to get better mileage (and save some brakes) I liked to slow the car by shifting from drive to "2" when slowing for a stop or a red light. That way the fuel cutoff would help in gaining a few mpgs without obstructing rush hour traffic too much.
