Hey I'm New

Whats up fellow Hypermiling peeps. I've been hypermiling for some time now and so stoked I found this forum. I drive a 1999 camry and get around 32mpg. I drive about 25 miles to school everyday so trying to squeeze out every last mpg. I'm going to buy the scan gauge soon but saving up for it. My car is about to be a beater if you know what I mean, so I'm ready to do some mpg mods that are relatively simple. The pizza tin wheel covers sound easy enough.

Welcome! There are plenty of writeups on low cost eco mods. Good luck!

Thumbs down Half tank update

With my tape mods on my back wheel well and part of frot grill and changing my driving techniques I am already at 300 miles with a little less then half a full tank. This is going to be my best one yet!

I've gone from 33-34 mpg to a consistent 38mpg since coming to this board and reading how to drive correctly. I'm trying to get that mpg up to 39 and once I do I'm going to start modding my car. I agree that this board has a ton to offer. Everyone seems to be helpful and the writeups are great. You'll find tons of great info to help you with your mpg goals.

sweet, my goal is 40 as well, trying to do the super easy mods as of now and improving my driving is a challenge. I live in southern california and while I get great highway milage, traffic has a way of destroying everything I've worked for, commute to college is a beast. Hills around were I live make for no so desirable city driving but I coast down them as much as I can.

last fillip got 29 mpg again. Even with my slight mods. Need to do less driving around town, that is killing my mpg.

A scangauge-e would really help you find out what works and what does technique wise.
