High efficiency (PM) alternators/generators etc.

High efficiency (PM) alternators/generators that you can buy today seem to be thin on the ground, so this thread is about the high efficiency alternators/generators I have found so far.
If you know of any; please do post.

Valeo:
Alternator:
https://www.valeo.com/en/catalogue/pts/12v-alternator/

This looks exactly the same as their 12V Belt Starter Generator with:
  • High level of regenerative braking up to 6-7 kW
  • High-efficiency generation (> 80%)
  • Light torque assist up to 2-3 kW
https://www.valeo.com/en/catalogue/p...erator-istars/

The 48V Belt Starter Generator:
  • Peak regenerative braking up to 15 kWp
  • Peak mechanical power up to 10 kWp
  • Continuous power @ 1.800 rpm: 1,8 kW
  • Continuous power @ 6.000 rpm: 6 kW
  • Max efficiency > 85%
  • Max torque > 65 Nm
https://www.valeo.com/en/catalogue/p...enerator-ibsg/

Which is probably the same as their 48 Volts Mild hybrid system with plug-in (hybrid vehicle):
https://www.valeo.com/en/48-volts-af...ectrification/

No word on whether these are PM motor generators..?
I NB that a starter generator would require 2 spring loaded tensioner/idler pullies. One on either side of the starter generator, as the belt slack side would change dependfing on if its motoring or generating.
Then there's the electronics to make it all work..???
With any luck Valeo is forthcoming on that subject.
The aftermarket market may be tiny, but making sure it works as advertised would be very good PR for Valeo.

Next up (to be researched): Lear
Any others?

Don't know if PM:
ecomodder.com/forum/showthread: Belt Alternator System (BAS) hybrid - general discussion thread

It does appear to have two idlers.

?? are you having trouble understanding why 2 idler pulleys are required?
Or do just dislike belts as a matter of principal and delete them and the ancillaries?

Pulleys are called PULLeys with good reason. that's a good place to start.

I guess you noticed there are at least 2 or 3 motors in that 48V PHEV setup, but the starter-generator looks very similar to the 12V units anyway. Suzuki is offering a 12V full-hybrid setup for the Swift in some countries, and mild-hybrid versions too, but the 48V system is better suited for a full-hybrid because it has a better power density.
