Thanks redpoint, I'm thinking that I'm just over thinking things. We don't have many hills here in Delaware. In fact, I think that bridges and overpasses are the biggest hills in the area. I don't think I have much to worry about but 1 bridge I use to get to New Jersey may be worth trying out this 80% load climb as it's a long, steep-ish climb up...

Focus-Ak, I keep searching hoping to find a Duratec BSFC chart and keep coming up with nothing...so annoying

jcp, it's possible your car doesn't like the load that high. You have to find the sweet spot for each individual car. My Civic liked HIGH load, but the Fit does better at ~70 instead of 85 load. And it's not because of open loop either - the Fit won't go Open until it's actually floored.
