Holiday Sweep #2

Hi,

Last year I posted a thread for guesses into my holiday MPG, well that time is close at hand again. This year the proposed holiday car is a

"Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI 115cv or similar"

Official figures are (imperial gal)

Quote:
Fuel consumption (urban) 41.6 mpg
Fuel consumption (extra urban) 64.2 mpg
Fuel consumption (combined) 53.3 mpg
We will be travelling from Murcia Airport in Spain to Mazarron and some local touring, mixed country roads and motorways with the odd trip to the local consum / supermercado depending on what is closest. I will be there for 2 weeks and the deal is the car is full and we return it full - so I can measure MPG

So

what are your guesses for the resulting MPG for the two weeks ?

EDIT - This is roughly where we are going.

I used to drive diesel focuses a lot, and it clearly depends on terrain. In the Eifel mountains I usually made 5.2 liters, while in flat to mildly hilly northeastern germany 4.4 were totally doable.

I'm hoping for 50+. Mrs A has ducked out of driving, she doesn't like the wrong side of the road

I'll have £5 on 52mpg UK

Be lucky if I get 1/2 that on my driving holiday

Would you like to revise that if I said Mrs A is feeling guilty and may drive ? After all its not fair I do it all...

(last time she drove in Spain we ran over a pile of bricks, the wrong way down a one way street, over a 8inch high kerb into a wall - in a Ford Ka - which was then driven in circles on the beach to cover it in sand before we handed it back and ran away...)

HEH! Ford Ka's are great continent stormers

My mate and I once sent back a Clio hire car with no 2nd or 4th, bald rear tyres , buggered handbrake and shot exhaust. took 2 days, plus a field to do that to a car with 560 miles on the clock

I'll still hit 52mpg

The "or similar" was a Quashqai or whatever they are called. God what a bl@@dy awful car - pretend 4x4 with a very nice 1.5 Diesel from Renault. Here is A- Junior expressing his opinion

The answer is 45.9 MPG - and that was with both me and Mrs A doing our best on coasting, 62 mph max cruise and no cruise control etc.

God I hated that car....

...nice engine though.
