Honda Alternator Switch

I'd like to know if any of you have installed an alternator kill switch. I have a Scangauge, so I'll be able to watch my battery's voltage. Also, what %mpg gain would I be able to expect from doing this?

I know andrew's white civic has an alternator cut, but there are no specifics about where/how to do it. I'm not the smartest with electricity... But I am a smart guy who understands how things work, so if I had a chart or instructions, I'd be confident that I could do it.

best/easiest thing to do, is buy a deep cycle battery 100ah and plug it into your cigarette lighter port. charge it from home with a decent battery charger. get a 14v or 16volt battery and it will prevent the alternator from switching on. be careful with current though -maybe by a watts up meter.

1) What is a watts meter?
2) Why would I want to plug it into my cig. Port? Wouldn't I want to mount it in the trunk, and then run a wire into the system that way?
3) Why would I get a 16V? My alternator peaks at about 14V

I'm not trying to sound too critical, I just honestly have questions about that...

Gracias!!

I shall sort through it. I'm a little bit of a novice when it comes to electronics and schematics. It's been about 11 years since I took electricity and magnetism (physics)...
