Honda Urban EV, what took so long
The retro-ish EV concept looks inspired by hatchbacks from the 70s or 80s, some of Honda’s own early iconic Civic/City models. Upright two-box with round headlights in a rectangular grille, and the hood decal. A two-door rear-hinged "suicide doors" compact dimensions with seating for four, front and rear benches. Honda’s EV Concept has an expansive panoramic touchscreen display that spans nearly the width of interior dashboard, The screen even extends into the doors, and those display feeds from the car’s two side cameras for almost 360 view around the vehicle.
Honda Urban EV concept marks the return of retro design

That dashboard needs a 'liquid wave' screen saver.

I love the look of that thing from the outside.
From the inside, they went full concept car.
You never go full concept car.

Looks neat. I could see predominantly US women or Japanese people purchasing for the style.
In my world, form must follow function, so I'd have to really be convinced that this is the most functional design.

Just remember if they build this thing from the ground up, you get to pay for a car designed from the ground up that will be produced in low numbers. It would be much cheaper if they stuffed electric motor and batteries in a civic.

I would need to be convinced that three-foot-wide monitor has a function.

Agreed, but at some point manufacturers need to begin building from the ground up; from a blank slate. Then the basic engineering lessons learned can be applied to the next iterations without having to spend as much on R&D each iteration. The purpose being the elimination of suboptimal engineering compromises from shoehorning EV components into an ICE developed platform.
