Housewife with Chevy Trailblazer

Hi all,

I currently am driving a Trailblazer extended type and am trying to save a little money. I consolidate trips and carpool with other moms when I can, but until my husband gets our 2nd Geo Metro up and running I have to make do with the Chevy. I'll be popping in and out of these forums every now and then, I expect. My husband is very interested in hypermiling and was talking about buying or making me a scanguage for mpg's... that's after he mods his camshaft on the Geo to get us an extra 5-10 mpgs... he's hoping he'll get 50mpg out of his Geo and I told him if he tries hypermiling he'll get even more!

Welcome to ecomodder! It's nice to hear that you AND your husband want to save fuel.

I'll assume you drive much less than your husband. Otherwise some instrumentation for your Trailblazer may save more fuel than your husband's new cam. Of course, driving a Metro will save much more fuel. Some of the math involved in calculating saving was discussed here.

Also, check out the 100+ hypermiling tips on this site if you haven't done so already.
