How do Ecomodders' commute distances compare to everyone else?
Hi Ecomodders:
Demographers and survey researchers would absolutely call the ecomodder community a 'sub-population'! So, I was thinking about how the ecomodder sub-population's commutes compare to U.S. averages. [Sorry, I don't have data on other country's commuting data...If you know of sources, please let me know.]
So, here's a poll that asks you to click the option that contains your daily commute distance. These categories are set up to match those provided in Commute Statistics | Statistic Brain which ultimately uses the National Household Travel Survey as its source. By using these categories, we can compare how the ecomodder community differs from the rest of the U.S. commuters.

Nice! You would then be considered 'ineligible' for the survey which must be considered a good thing!

Hard to answer, 1-3 most of the time, then 450 each way occasionally.

16 each way to the office, probably 20% of the time I drive around the area to jobs. In the last 3 months I have driven over 2200 miles on top of the regular commute.

My commute to my first job was a 0.8 mile walk. Which I could not have registered in this poll.
I have commuted on foot, bicycle (folding, city, race & triathlon), moped, motorbike, inline skates, car, bus, tram, train and metro over time and jobs.
I could have used a boat at more than one time but it never was practical .
I could have skated on ice but I really hate ice skating... I'm done with inline skating too, still have a lower back injury reappearing once in a while thanks to that.
The length of my commute has varied from that 0.8 to over 45 miles one way.
Nowadays it is 22 miles with a choice between highway and village/rural.

Just under 5 miles for me. My ebike does it in about the same amount of time as by car (mostly 25MPH speed limit with about 1.5 miles of 35).

Used to be 50 miles each way, and FE was around 0.5LHK better due to the engine being warmer for longer. Now struggling to get below 3.8LHK.

37 miles each way. 67 mph on the super highway gets me 93 mpgUS on the CBR250R or 58 mpgUS in the Gen1 Insight in the winter. Or I can take the two lane roads at 55 mph on the PCX150 and get 99 mpgUS.
