Hello hello everyone!
Firstly, I had no idea that this wonderful forum even existed until today. I've had my '07 Prius since it strutted its stuff off of the assembly line back in 2007 and it's been dead reliable since then!
One thing that required replacement was the oxygen sensor, so I changed it and decided to post up this walk-through on the procedure:
**Parts**
89465-47070- OEM Prius o2 Sensor $107.88 at toyotapartszone.com and $148.81 at dealerships
**Procedure**
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Note: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. Remove lower center instrument panel finish panel.
3. Remove heated oxygen sensor.
4. Using a clip remover, remove the clip.
5. Fold back the floor carpet front.
6. Disconnect the sensor connector.
7. Remove the grommet of the sensor from the vehicle.
8. Remove the wire harness clamp bracket from the sensor.
9. Using special tool SST: 09224-00010, remove the sensor.
To install:
1. Install heated oxygen sensor.
2. Using special tool SST: 09224-00010, install the sensor. Tighten to 30ft. lbs. (40 Nm).
3. Install the wire harness clamp bracket to the sensor.
4. Install the grommet of the sensor to the vehicle.
5. Connect the sensor connector.
6. Install the floor carpet front with the clip.
7. Connect cable to negative battery terminal.
8. Inspect for exhaust gas leak.
9. Install lower center instrument panel finish panel.
10. Connect the negative battery cable.
11. Perform the power window initialization procedure.
12. You're done!
