How to wire the power cord for MPGuino?

Hello, as the topic states, I'm hoping to finish up my MPGuino install this weekend.

The power cord that powers the unit (with the A/C style connector to board).

I stripped the wiring loom off and I have:

- Center (thick) stranded wire. I'm assuming this is to constant power?

- Grounded strands that wrap/insulate around the center wire. I'm assuming I roll this together into solder it to a wire which will go to ground under the dash?

Am I getting this right?

Don't want to fry the board or the car.

Any help appreciated. Thank you!
