HX powerplant swap... worth it?

Well I'm having trouble finding a VX, as you would expect. I have come acrost a great deal on a 96 ex coupe though. I'm thinking of picking it up. But now I'm in HX territory, as far as an engine swap goes. What do you guys think, is it worth it to even swap an HX powerplant into a coupe? I'm looking for a bare minumim of 35mpg here anything above that is just bonus. Ideally, I would like 40+ or even closer to 45. Do you think that would be possible with the HX powerplant in the ex coupe?

I think you could be at 35+ with the excellent EX motor and just an HX manual transmission swap.

You could sell the EX trans to one of the millions of DX/HX owners who want one for its performance.

Thats what I planned on doing but time is running short. My current car is uninspected and the part I need for it is on backorder from japan. It will be a month or more before I get the part for the car and I need something well before that. I haven't found anything local thats any good except for the 96. I also just found a 99 on ebay going for pretty cheap and I'm torn if I should bid or not.. the last car I bought on there was my mustang with a "newly rebuilt motor" and after 3 months, it blew up, and I took it apart only to find the bearings scored so deep, they looked like they had been assembled in a duststorm.

Speaking of HX's I just found one locally, well sort of local. What is a good price for one of these cars? Its a 97 with 175,000 on the clock. it seems to be in good shape, but they are asking almost $4,000. I personally think thats extremely steep. Am I wrong on this?

HXs generally sell at very high prices. *shrug* Same is true with the VX but being older and less powerful has made it less expensive by a bit.
