Hypercar Bugatti Bollide and its active aero 'goosebumps'

Bugatti has developed a track-focused hyper sports car, the Bugatti Bollide. It is to be their most extreme, uncompromising, lightest and fastest vehicle in their history. A 1,850 hp W16 engine, with four turbochargers, an all-wheel powertrain in the lightest carbon fiber monocoque structure, a 1,240 kilogram vehicle - comparable with a Formula One race car. It will incorporate the latest in race car technologies. The overall design aesthetics is dictated by 'open through-flow' design, with many functional scoops supposedly for favorable aerodynamic optimization. One of its fascinating aero innovations is their patented 'Dimple Airscoop.' Similar to the aerodynamic effect in golf balls, the air-inflated morphable dimples minimize the air drag by creating turbulent boundary layer to reduce detachment and improve airflow. When the dimples are 'inflated' at high speeds, it reduces aerodynamic drag of the airscoop by 10% and reduces lift by 17%.

Why not leave the dimples inflated all the time? Maybe for just aesthetic reasons. Even better, why not design a better airscoop tapering shape.

That car has goosebumps.

Looks like what you get when watching a horror movie.

Or CNN.

dimples all the time

If it's a 'track' car, and legal for street use, permanent protruding dimples might attract the attention of regulatory safety agencies.
A struck pedestrian, who survives the hood, while traveling over the roof, and not killed outright by the scoop, might suffer injuries by the high-speed nubs rasping at their flesh, as they make their way towards the horizontal guillotine at the rear of the Bollide.
I prefer to be hit by the 311-mph Hennessey Venom f5.
