Over 3,000 miles and no gas! (It's electric)

Well I've driven over 3,000 miles now, and no problems. I drive almost daily, and have gotten used to charging only after I arrive home with over 50 miles on the odometer. My BMS system makes it a snap to charge. Just plug it in and it does all the rest. I've measured the range at over 100 miles, so I'm very comfortable with pushing it past 60 miles on a charge. The summer heat makes the car more efficient. Even with the top down, I use about 200 - 210 wh/m. I drive top down most of the time. It is quieter because you don't hear any gear noise. I have solar panels on my house, and it will be interesting to see if I can conserve enough electricity from my home use to drive free for the year. It will be close.

Nice feeling huh? I cant explain the high I get when I trick my Insight into ev mode and coast a few miles, keeping up with traffic and not burning any gas.

I like how this can be done for a fraction of the cost of the new mass produced electric vehicles.

Because of the new mass produced EV's on the market, the price on used EV's has dropped, there is a Toyota Rav4-EV, factory built EV that is for sale on Ebay right now for around $10,000 while I've seen that same vehicle sell for over $45,000 a few years ago, granted this one needs about $1,000 to $3,000 worth of work done to it, that shouldn't keep it from fetching $40,000 if that is what people want to pay for an EV!
there are other EV's on Ebay in the $4,500 to $9,000 price range, the price range that people tend to buy used cars that still use gasoline! while a few years ago it was hard to find one priced at less then $10,000 sure you could always ask around and luck out like I did and buy one for $180 but that might not happen every day.
My point is, you don't have to build your own EV to do what FB_BF is doing, you can do what my parents did and buy a used EV and have it be your primary vehicle right away! of course they did buy their EV from a suburban soccer mom who without any mechanical background or EV background built it in her garage but not everyone is a soccer mom so not everyone can build EV's... right... like Ben Nelson says at the start of his presentations "I'm just a regular guy who built this in my driveway" and it works.

I saw it too. Functional vs. non functional didn't seem to effect price as much as you would think.
People were paying insane amounts of money for EV afew years ago. But it seems the mass produced EVs very quickly saturated the EV market.
I thought sales of new EVs were going to be a lot better than they are now but I didn't expect the price to be as high.
