Respect goes both ways. It would be very rude of me to ride my scooter at 50 mph on a 65 mph interstate. Traffic will back up behind me while semis try to find a gap big enough to jump into the left lane at 50, in front of cars approaching at 75 mph. Traffic is too dense where I drive for me to consider 50 mph on the interstate any kind of viable option regardless of whatever personal justification I would come up with.

Cohabitate and cooperate on the roads. The slow line of trucks will be 2 mph under the limit. This is slow enough. Going any slower than this is just making a problem.

Just don't do your slow jam 45 in the left lane, as it is neither safe nor courteous.
Nobody likes a road hog - legal or not.

NOBODY here is talking about parking - except you.
Some states even have it posted on their highways: "keep right except to pass".
It's common sense, common courtesy and a matter of safety.

And it's the law almost everywhere (not that it's enforced very often).

I'm still interested in the legal theory that allows me to go whatever speed I want as long as I have accomplices.

It is obviously already in practice. Half of the cars on the highway drive faster than 75 mph in a 65 zone. If only 1 car in 100 were driving 75, 76 mph would get you a ticket every time but it doesn't.

And the judge will buy that?
Where is the statute that defines that?

I use to drive much faster in my younger years. What did it get me? A few speeding tickets, higher insurance rates, and actually more stress as I was always "in a hurry". The older I get the slower I go, yet stay mindful and aware of my place on the road. I drive more city streets where driving the PSL and I can still get great mpg. I have much less stress behind the wheel driving this way now.

Many years ago I broke my speedy ways by wondering what it would be like to only have a moped or EV that could only go 45... would it drive me nuts? I decided I didn't have to actually have a moped or EV to test that theory; all I had to do was drive/ride at that speed. Voila, the change occurred. I'm much more relaxed while driving and I don't care if there are any cops hiding anywhere anymore. Yes, I could handle having a vehicle that only has 45-55 mph cruise capability.
