Ideotic units for commodities

Just curious WTF is 2828 CNY for methanol?
WTF is $865/ton for naphtha?

During the last fuel surge methanol was $1.50 a gallon and Naphtha a little over a buck a gallon.

Anymore I’m not sure where to buy the cheap stuff

Used to be a mix of the 2 worked well to power off road equipment, was no more complex than running e85 but a lot cheaper

Can’t make heads or tails what the spot price of this crap is per gallon anymore

CNY is the international abbreviation for Chinese Yuan. Methanol seems to be sold by the metric ton on the commodity market which makes sense in large quantities as fluids change volume based on temperature but a ton is always a ton.

A metric ton of methanol is roughly 333 gallons
