Instrumentation for *AUDM* Honda civic 6th gen (EK/Cxi)

So, I recently bought a Honda Civic EK hatch - the Australian Cxi model, engine D16Y4. To my annoyance, though this is documented as being an obd2 mpfi engine in various places, it seems Australia didn't get obd compatible Hondas until 2007 (apparently just because 'straya... darn one-horse-country mentality).

So, as far as I can see, my options are:
- MPGuino - seems like the best option, and easiest by a fair margin.
- Add obd2 connector - no idea if this is the Ecu is the same as US models, but if so, it may be that it just needs a missing connector added to the board (board rework I'm comfortable with tackling). If it's a completely different unit, of course, this probably isn't an option - can anyone advise?
- ECU swap - unlikely to happen, due to the amount of work... But might consider it if I can gain other advantages from it (e.g. Lean burn mode).
- Engine transplant - not going to happen unless this one dies, and it's a well maintained 200,000km, so not likely to be soon.

Any input appreciated.
