The air intake on my crossover SUV started under the battery, sucking in hot air from the engine compartment. So with some flexible tubing from Lowe's, I extended the intake to a fog-light opening under the bumper, for a ram-air effect. One auto accessory company sells an insulated "wrap" to keep the air in the intake system as cold as possible, but I could probably find similar (and cheaper) material at Lowe's. So here is the question: Is it worth the time and effort to insulate the new intake tube and/or the the existing air filter box?
