What I did was convert my fridge to a chest freezer with a temperature control. It dramatically cut my power cost. I have to admit I used to have my chest freezer that I use as a freezer insulated and it really does help... but when it was moved from the garage into the house the spousal unit protested the "ugly" of my insulated freezer so I had to give in on that one... I am now working on a garage insulation project to help button up the house this winter and hopefully I will be able to return the freezer back to the garage and back to it's "insulated" ways! LOL

The chest refridge mod has been a great mod and really cut the power bill a chunk!
