They took great pains to make a 911 look like a 356 didn't they?

I think the extra width and area of the wheels/body more than makes up for the racer box cavity benefits.

Six-year-long Porsche 911 Carrera RSR restomod project finally reaches completion

Six years ago, Emory Motorsports Inc. began working on restoring and modernizing a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR.........................

The body of the vintage coupe has been re-done from scratch using aluminum and stainless steel, and the windows are plastic/polycarbonate, rather than glass.

I would put this into "Oddity" thread or even the Non-Aerodynamic category despite some of it's positive features.

Gotta compare it to the stock car, the Duck-Tail lowered drag if I recall correctly.

EDIT:

Looks to be a typo in that article above, this is what the maker's website says.

More of a 356, not a 911 - just as it looks like.

According to Bowlus, the Chief On The Road is the most aerodynamic travel trailer ever built and it has a low center of gravity for unrivaled handling.
At $100k it better be the best at something.

Thanks for finding that. I like it even more now, for the Emory Motorsports connection.

Since they moved to LA I miss the Porsche camp-outs they used to do in the woods at Eola Village, just north of Amity, OR.

That barn was stuffed with Porsche unobtanium, in boxes on rows of shelves stretching into the gloom, like the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark. More pictures: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=porsch+campout+reunion

It closes a circle. The original Bowlus inspired Wally Byam to abandon his original design for the classic Airstream.

For those fortunate enough to live under the benevolent oversight of the EU, a polishing rouge to give it a satin finish or a vinyl wrap would be a nice mod.

Else Plastidip!

I'm guessing it's aerodynamic, it's by Gordon Murray.

Background video on the designer.
