All that is needed to start at -80 below is GLOW PLUGS. Glow plugs are NOT very expensive, they would just have to redesign the heads to support them.

With glow plugs gas engines can burn most any aeromatic including ethanol at any temperature and any mix.

Another possibility though more expensive would be true plasma spark plugs and the associated system to run them, that burn very hot.
