The untold side of constrained oil is that the poor countries can no longer access fertilizer or pesticides which reduces oil use greatly

N Korea learned about this and lost a third of their population

Most of the rice in my country is grown either in my homeland Rio Grande do Sul or in Santa Catarina, and a rice field is flooded enough to leave room to raise fish such as tilapia, which BTW enhances naturally the Nitrogen levels on the soil and also controls some pests. And getting rid of meat is not really so appealing, even though some other livestock may be more "sustainable" than cattle.
