I did some highway driving during the last week, and checked the mpg on my Celica. Now, I top off and divide on every fillup. My in-town driving nets me a pretty consistent 26-27 mpg.
However, the Celica does quite a bit better on the highway. In two separate trips, I got 36.5 and 36, not bad. I'm sure that the big gap between city and highway is related to the good wind drag profile of this thing.
Referring to a question earlier, the car settles in to an overdrive gear (auto) on the highway. It is spinning about 2400 RPM at 60 mph.
I recently put new tires on the thing and I'm kicking myself for not getting some a bit taller
I'm wondering what the low-hanging fruit things I could to to get a few more mpg?????
