it's big it's brutal, and it's got....wheelskirts?

Brabus E V12 Black Baron — Autoblog
it's probably the only nice feature about this tune up, but this could change perseption about wheelskirts... i doubt it'll be a big hit, but perhaps wheelskirts might make their comeback as some point in ordinary cars...

That looks horrible to me. Even the wheel skirts. Pity. Glad they did it though

That's almost as ugly as my car, but they're actually trying. A pity indeed.

Brabus E V12 Black Baron is cloaked for speed — Autoblog

To reach the car's electronically-limited 217 mph top speed, the car's aerodynamics have been improved at the obvious expense of the car's looks. Unless, of course, you think those wheel spats look good. We don't. If you need to go faster, the car is estimated to be able to hit 230 mph sans the electro-nanny. And it still gets 15 mpg.

They look like more of an after thought than a design feature...

That whole car looks like more of an after thought than a design feature, actually.

That car is like what I just did... two posts in a row, when I should have edited the first one.

well brabus being a tuning company, all the bits ARE afterthoughts... that's no excuse for them being so ugly though.

now if i wanted to make the latest mercedes go faster i'd do something like this

that choulderline over the wheelarch just begs for something to fit over it, just make a smooth panel that goes over that entire surface, redesign the bumper (wich they do anyway) to blend with the sheet...

perfect smooth lines... they could have some ribs or whatever on it if they must...

than again... i'm still shocked that they really did this... it basically means at some point they realised there was a lot of speed to be gained from this mod... it's a big thumbs up to anyone doing wheelskirts

Brabus should pop by Ecomodder.com more often. We'd have tidied up those wheel skirts for them

Nice image makeover Lunarhighway.
As far as the wheel skirts on the Brabus, I agree that they look like something that was glued on to the car. It doesn't blend well at all.
Did you notice the 'blender' style wheels in the front ? They could have just put smooth wheel covers on all the wheels and had a similar effect. Black it all out, and it would look wicked like this Maybach Exelero :
